Priority/Goal Area #1      INCREASE STUDENT LEARNING and READINESS

CORE INSTRUCTION:
Teaching staff will gain a better understanding of the Iowa Instructional Framework for quality teaching.
Teaching staff will align individual professional development goals, PLC goals, and classroom instruction to one domain/indicator/descriptor and implement.
 
STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES:

Faculty will effectively utilize available resources (online, personalized, apprenticeships, individualized, differentiation, etc.) to maximize learning experiences targeted to the abilities, interests, and learning opportunities of the individual student that leads to growth.
Each student will be held to high standards in all areas(academics, behavior, collaboration, etc.) and are expected to put forth their best effort at all times.
The ocsd will implement a process for student and community feedback about instruction, assessment, online learning, and other learning-related issues upon which the school will reflect and take action.

STANDARDS BASED TEACHING/LEARNING/REPORTING:
All content areas have identified priority standards, created proficiency rubrics and common formative assessments aligned to the standards, and uploaded them to the staff resources site in all core areas.
All content areas and all grade levels will report progress on the Iowa Core Standards through the Infinite Campus report card system.


Priority/Goal Area #2       CREATE a CULTURE that is SAFE, WELCOMING, and INCLUSIVE for LEARNING and WORKING

 
CULTURE/CLIMATE:

Each building implements a plan to teach SEBH competencies explicitly.  
Each building implements a plan to consistently reinforce SEBH competencies. 
All staff will contribute to a positive culture in each building.
Each building will continue to build a student success program which provides Tier II/III supports for student which involves family input and communication


SAFETY/SECURITY:
OCSD will create a safe environment by fully implementing the district EOP, improving facilities to address safety concerns, and implementing mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to illness.

Priority/Goal Area #3      STAFF, FAMILY, and COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT and SUPPORT

Each attendance center, as well as the district,  will continue to promote / showcase “the amazing things” through the website/app on a regular basis.
Each attendance center will establish expectations for “teacher to parent” communication and create a plan, processes, and procedures to implement during the 2021-2022 school year.   Communication between teachers and parents will increase during the 2021-2022 school year.
Each attendance center will create a plan to increase student involvement in the community through service projects, work-based learning, career exploration, or other partnership opportunities.

Priority/Goal Area #4      MANAGE RESOURCES EFFECTIVELY and IMPROVE FACILITIES

FINANCES:
Each building/department will budget/manage resources to provide quality services.
Reduce negative deficit spending in all funds (specifically special education, Title I, home school assistance).
Reduce the number of open enrolled out students.  Increase the number of open enrolled in students.
 
FACILITIES:
OCSD will continue to move forward with facility planning to continuously improve our facilities
